This Past Week & Upcoming Projects! This past week was the nicest week of the year in Indianapolis so far. Much time was spent outside… within my yard of course. The Covid-19 Quarantine Lockdown 2020 is in full effect! And so is Spring Break. Weird huh? I never imagined a Spring Break where I could not leave my neighborhood and had to wear a face mask to get a loaf of bread from our local bakery. Such is life though. It’s like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get. At least I heard that in a movie one time.
I’ve tried to stick to my daily schedule which consists of a morning beverage and small breakfast, followed by some exercise and/or meditation, followed by checking emails, followed by painting and other business projects. Now that the weather is improving, I’m taking more breaks to walk around the neighborhood with my dog and the rest of my family. Working in a full house is a new dynamic for me. Before the lockdown, I had the house to myself during the day. Now I’m sharing it with my wife and 2 kids. I’m making more meals, building more forts, refereeing more sibling spats. Sometimes my work gets pushed into the night hours. The quarantine has forced me to adapt my schedule, pushing me to paint at any given time day or night.
I have some EXCITING PROJECTS in the pipeline. I have a few personal commissions I’m working on. They came in just before the lockdown. I’m also working on signage for local pet business Fountain Square Dog Training and working on a deal with City Dogs Grocery. Last, but not least Peppy Grill has hired me to paint a large scale mural at their NEW IUPUI location 910 W 10th Street Indianapolis, IN 46202. The time table on all of this has yet to be determined, but I will let you know ASAP.
In other news, we planted some grass seed at home. We have a couple dead patches that need some help. We also have another spot where a tree use to live. We had the tree removed last year and would like to fill in the area with grass. I water it every day and check to see if the flowers from last year are coming back. Cross your fingers!
Thanks again for tuning it. I’m trying to #bebetter about posting to this blog. My goal is still to post one time per week. I’ve posted 4 times in 4 weeks so we’re on track! The attached picture is my latest painting. It’s the third painting in a series of ten. All ten paintings will have an abstract background with a face wearing headphones in the foreground. REMEMBER, you’re only as good as your last painting, poem, song, mile ran, candy crush score! So go after it. Stay healthy and stay on top!!!
And a BIG SHOUT OUT to all who are working to take care of us. Thank you medical staff, police, firefighters, restauranteers, warehousers and everyone else who is doing their part to get us through this.
Look next week for updates on the week and upcoming projects. Peace, love and turtle doves!
